I had this bug too. Kubuntu intrepid updated from hardy. After removing
kmldonkeyrc file everything works fine.

It seems that the following configuration option was responsible for Download page failing to render properly:
[DownloadPage]
DownloadSplitter=0,0

DownloadPage section is not present in new configuration file.
