I installed from the alternative cd a new installation of Ubuntu 8.04.1.
I then attempted to reproduce this issue with firefox.
firefox:
Installed: 3.0.5+nobinonly-oubuntu0.8.04.1
Candidate: 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
Since I do not have a YouTube account, I went to google videos. I
double-clicked on one video, got no plugin, was offered the
installation. I allowed the system to install flash-plugin-nonfree.
Still could not run the video. Shutdown firefox and restarted, went to
google videos, video plays as expected.
Is you system up-to-date? Did you restart firefox after the flash-plugin
was installed? Is this a 32-bit or 64-bit installation?
** Changed in: flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu)
