An up-to date package of xserver-xorg-video-intel in each version, as of
December 22nd 2008.
3) What you expected to happen
I expect XRandR to automagically detect available resolutions on my
external monitor and offer them as options. The Display utility in KDE's
- SystemSettings doesn't work so I'm using xrandr CLI tility instead. See

Only resolutions up to 1280x1024 are offered. This only happens when I
connect the monitor after the Xserver starts up. When I have the monitor
connected before Xserver start (reboot, restart X, etc..), the
resolutions are detected and listed as expected. See attached outputs
below.
