Sounds good. From the error messages, it sounds like i855 simply
doesn't support the features compiz needs, so preventing it from being
enabled is probably the correct behavior anyway. But I'll leave it open
as wishlist since compiz *should* ideally work on all hardware
regardless.
Can you confirm that on 8.04, compiz is working? And are you using the
i810 driver or intel? This info will help in determining if this bug
report is just wishlist, or a regression.
If you do get a chance to test a Jaunty LiveCD and find it resolves this
issue, I'd love to hear. However, there's been reports of various
issues on 8xx chipsets in jaunty, so it may not be worth your trouble
just yet.
