I have also tried installing both the new 2.4.3 and the new 2.5.1
drivers.  No change.

Machine details: Dell E6500 with GM45/4500MHD.  glxgears gets 1200fps
under Hardy (livecd) and 200-300fps under Intrepid (installed).
