Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bochs

Hello !

On 8.10, versions 2.3.7-1 of packages bochs and bochsbios are not
compatible.

== Symptoms ==

When launching bochs, it panics :
"Event type: PANIC
Device: [MEM0 ]
Message: ROM: System BIOS must end at 0xfffff"

== Culprit ==

Per http://www.nabble.com/Strange-error-message-when-bringing-up-a-CVS-build-td7532679.html , the /etc/bochs-init/bochsrc file provided is obsolete. More precisely, line 3 reads :
romimage: file=/usr/share/bochs/BIOS-bochs-latest, address=0xfffff
and the address parameter should be omitted.

== Workaround ==

Removing the address parameter fixes the issue.

The fact that the bochsrc file comes from an older build is surprising. Some other bugs are likely to be caused by this version mismatch.
