[Bug 301518] [NEW] Letters and lines disappear in emacs

Binary package hint: xemacs21

Letters and lines and symbols randomly disappear and reappear from the
display when editing a file.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open file with lots of source code.
2. Press and hold C-L to re-center.
3. Watch stuff disappear.
