Hi,

Can you try to completely uninstall hugin with 
sudo apt-get purge hugin

remove dependencies with 
sudo apt-get autoremove

and reinstall hugin with 
sudo apt-get install hugin

If still failing, please send the result of the commands:
type hugin
ldd /usr/bin/hugin
hugin (to run hugin from command line)

Something is wrong in your system. Let see if we can find what that way.
