Strange : it seems it happens only after you've changed your screen
settings with gnome-display-properties.

If you do a recalibrate after a fresh X restart, it will works.
(well, at least, the calibration software will be displayed. Then, it has absolutely no effect with my touchscreen but I believe it's related to : bug #276302 )
