[Bug 207980] Re: task switching w/Stellarium causes display failure, system hang

using ubuntu 8.10 all upadtes etc 
stellarium just freezes machine 

even after complete removal  and reinstall

reboot etc

Sometimes when closing down  screen shows red and white vertical stripes
machine is intel core duo  1 gig ram  
os ubuntu 8.10
