This is irritating indeed. From what I'm seeing, it looks like it could
be a font that was configured to be there but isn't.

First try this,
sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-extra texlive-fonts-recommended

Then check to see if that package will install. If it doesn't do the
last thing I mentioned again.

If that still doesn't work, then try following the instructions here:

package"


Please post a terminal log of every single thing you do - even the stuff that produces no errors. Just so we have a reference for it.
