I did try from a source, but then i filed this crash report, removed clamav,
and installed  clamav-base and all dependencies from Synaptic (marked with
the ubuntu circle)--i messed up the works somehow, before,  but cannot point
out how. Went to recovery mode and everything seems okay, Couldn't you get
inside my computer and find out? I guarantee that you shall not find any
offensive matter on my computer. Just say when.

 sudo freshclam still gives " Can't change dir to /var/clamav".
