noted these lines in my dmesg today, not sure if it means anything or is
even helpful, but it caught my attention:

hope this helps to some degree, i just noticed it looked like an error and had something to do with the video chipset, i think

on a side note, I have no idea where this virtual resolution came from
in my xorg file:
