After upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10
ProblemType: does not find lavc
Architecture: intel pentium
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/mencoder
NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia
Package: mencoder 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu17
the option:
mencoder CD2.avi -sub CD2.srt -oac copy -ovc copy lavc -o finalCD2.avi -subcp iso-8859-1 -subfont-text-scale 2.8
fails with
File not found: 'lavc'00%) 812.63fps Trem: 0min 694mb A-V:0.033 [1516:383]
Failed to open lavc.
Cannot open file/device.
Result: just a copy , fails to add subtitles
It did work nicely with Hardy
searching my computer:
There is not lavc as such in the file system
There are:
