interesting new comments, as written before on IRC I'm using stock
jaunty I've no speed or hang issue, the only revelant change I've in the
xorg configuration is:

"	SubSection "Display"
		Virtual	2840 1050
	EndSubSection""

I've just commented it and tried mdz repro code and workspace is
immediatly slugish, I didn't get a freeze yet but that seems to make a
real difference
