Its a little bit better in Jaunty - you now get:

The file '􏻠􏺃􏻷' could not be read or does not contain recognized VPN
connection information

Error: does not look like a Cisco Compatible VPN (vpnc) VPN connection.

However this still needs improving as it sounds like the files corupt.
