Here it goes!

s-video cable pluged after boot and login

s-video cable pluged before boot, after login I disabled all desktop effects (compiz) and with the two screens (laptop at left and TV at right) well configured I tried to play flv a wmv films, that crashed silently.

I'm available if you want more info.
