I'm unable to replicate this. Since this bug was filed Jaunty shifted
to Python 2.6 as the default Python. All I see now are some deprecation

$ mnemosyne
/var/lib/python-support/python2.6/mnemosyne/core/mnemosyne_core.py:7: DeprecationWarning: the md5 module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
  import random, time, os, string, sys, cPickle, md5, struct, logging, re
/var/lib/python-support/python2.6/mnemosyne/core/mnemosyne_log.py:7: DeprecationWarning: the sets module is deprecated
  import os, logging, bz2, sets, traceback, time, urllib2

done!

Does this still happen?
