Binary package hint: nvidia-cg-toolkit
There is an error in nvidia-cg-toolkit, in Ubuntu 8.10 (and Debian)
symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libCg.so: undefined symbol:
__cxa_guard_acquire

The main consecuence is: imposible to use OpenGL in Mono, (TAO
