[Bug 365687] [NEW] 9.04 Netbook remix fails to boot on Asus Eee PC 701

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-netbook-remix

Created a boot USB stick sudo dd if=ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix-i386.img
of=/dev/sdb1 bs=1M to use on an Asus Eee PC 701.

"Try Ubuntu Netbook Remix without any changes to your computer" starts
ok with the fancy graphics boot screen then the PC suddenly displays a
BusyBox prompt.

Removing the quiet and splash boot options shows that the last few lines
are:

SQUASHFS error: sb_bread failed reading block 0xaf7b6
SQUASHFS error: unable to read cache block [2bded93e:127a]
SQUASHFS error: unable to read inode [2bded93:127a]

Booting the "Check disc for defects" option shows the same problem.

Any clues please?
