with recent drivers taken from PPA, problems have almost disapeared 
considering links given above, i still have 2 bugs
1°) a reduced black area  at http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2009/03/05/application-installing/ (surrounding comments)
2°) a grey background on the second part of http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-10204911-64.html?tag=newsEditorsPicksArea.0
