[Bug 367407] [NEW] preferences dialog responds only after delay

Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and gnumail.app 1.2.0~pre3+snap20071004-4build1.

Configuring GNUMail is annoying.  Clicking somewhere in the preferences
dialog takes a while (2-5 seconds, maybe?) to register with the
application before you can actually type anything in.  If you're
patient, you can eventually configure it, though.
