I was able to restart thunderbird once the Netbeans has been closed.

By the way, I have proceed with the installation of the libstdc++5
package.  Right now, there seems to be no problems with the thunderbrid
nor netbeans applications.  I will test it a bit more before confirming
this bug as solved.

If you have any other question about my local configuration, please let
me know.
