If everything works fine in Karmic, I don't think there is much we can
do. It is likely that there are some old configuration files lying
around causing the problems. You may test a Jaunty LiveCD to find out if
this is the case. If it works fine with that, there is probably some old
settings causing problems.

Here are a few workarounds that may or may not work on your system:
- Move away /etc/X11/xorg.conf (if configuration problem)
- Upgrade to xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.7.1 from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates (if not a configuration problem)

Since the bug is not present in the development version, I'm closing
this bug.
