I experience the same bug on a recent Dell Latitude E5400

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4
Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07)

This bug only exists when compiz is enabled. Disabling compiz, and wallpaper is displayed like it should.
Could this be somehow related to the 2048x2048 limit for the virtual screen on intel chipsets, to enable DRI?
