Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

I'm a bit newbie but I'll give this a shot

Start vlc from nautilus(play directory) or add directory from playlist-window->sort playlist entries by title and vlc crashes.
I'm using ubuntu 9.04 jaunty
Vlc is vlc-1.0.2~git+20090811, source downloaded from repositories(not ubuntu standard, launchpad repos added)
The crash occurs both in program downloaded from repos and in the program compiled from source.
It would appear that playlist size might be a factor. It crashes when I sort all Smallville episodes so thats about 200.
I don't actually know how to use gdb but I gave it a shot anyway and it turned out to be 1000's of lines(attached).
I'll do more debugging if given some instructions(dafintrash (at) gmail.com)
