I am using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha 4 and when I try to use poedit
I have this errror bellow:

Binary package hint: poedit

$ poedit
poedit: relocation error: poedit: symbol _ZN21wxMemoryFSHandlerBase19AddFileWithMimeTypeERK8wxStringPKvjS2_, version WXU_2.8.5 not defined in file libwx_baseu-2.8.so.0 with link time reference
