Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kbarcode

If the username contains a backslash (this is common when using
likewise-open), kbarcode cannot generate barcodes or add barcodes to
label designs. It passes a bad temp file location to ghostscript.

Below is console output from kbarcode, with the username redacted.

cmd: gs -g260x133 -r96x96 -sDEVICE=pbmraw -sOutputFile=/tmp/kde-DOMAIN\username/kbarcodegPR1ka.pbm -sNOPAUSE -q - -c showpage quit
GPL Ghostscript 8.70: **** Could not open the file /tmp/kde-DOMAINusername/kbarcodegPR1ka.pbm .
Error: /invalidfileaccess in --showpage--
