All the directories where stuff is installed to is fixed in
Linux/Ubuntu, so it uses /boot, /lib, /usr, /var, /etc, .... and so on.
/home is reserved for user home directories, i.e. your personal settings
and documents.

Therefore you will need to somehow make more space available on the
disk-partition that holds the other directories, Ubuntu can not simply
use /home by itself.
