Binary package hint: apt-src
apt-src -h uses the word "retreive" as shown below;
Issue is with version 0.25.1-0.1 (default for at least Jaunty & Karmic)

Usage: apt-src [options] command
apt-src [options] install|remove pkg1 [pkg2 ...]
apt-src location pkg
apt-src is a simple command line interface for downloading and installing
source packages.
Commands:
update - Retreive new lists of packages
install - Install a source package into the current directory
upgrade - Upgrade all installed source packages
remove - Remove source packages and trees
build - Build source package trees
clean - Clean source package trees
list - List installed source packages and their locations
location - Output the location of a source package's tree
version - Output the version of a source package
import - Tell apt-src about an existing source tree
name - Expand source package name
Options:
-h This help text.
-b Build source packages after installing or upgrading.
-i Install binary packages after building them.
-p Patch local changes into new tree when upgrading.
(On by default; disable with --no-p)
-l=? Operate on packages in the given location only.
If installing a new package, put it there.
-c Operate on packages in the current directory only.
