[Bug 312797] Re: install through synaptic fails

Attempted install through synaptic.  It installed successfully.  Looking
at DpkgTerminalLog.txt, it appears that you previously may have
installed python modules by hand.  By default, Ubuntu does not allow
local files to be overwritten.  If you desire this behavior on your
system then in /etc/python/debian_config place 'overwrite-local=1'. Your
other option is to reinstall these modules.
