This bug also effects me in exactly the same way with an additional
problem. I don't use analog output for my speakers. I use digital, and
it doesn't seem to be playing over that. I have an ASUS P5K-E Wifi/AP
mobo with built in Digital (S/PDIF) output. It plays fine over
headphones though.
