Looks like the problem is that your graphics chip now has a maximum 1360
x 1360.  Try setting the virtual option in your xorg.conf.  E.g.:

Section "Screen"
	Identifier	"Default Screen"
	Monitor		"Configured Monitor"
	Device		"Configured Video Device"
	SubSection "Display"
                Virtual 1680 1050
	EndSubSection
EndSection
