what Esko and KFX worked for me,

uninstalling flashplugin-nonfree, adobe-flashplugin, swfdec-mozilla, and swfdec-gnome  
using synaptic package manager.

then i went to a flash site ie HULU.com and firefox recognizess a plugin
is missing, I chose to install missing plugins using firefox and i chose
the adobe flash plugin and flash and pandora are all working now.
