How about such an changelog entry:

vala (0.7.4-1ubuntu1) karmic; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #398141), remaining changes:
    - debian/rules:
      + Make test-suite failures fatal.
  * New upstream release fixes segv in vala_data_type_get_cnam (LP: #323943).
