 I'm saying here that's it's a bad idea to strip the patch system with
 the last patch; it's best to keep it around.  Especially when we have
 patches in Ubuntu and none in Debian or vice-versa, removing the patch
 system itself is an useless diff.

 Yes, I'm willing to do that, but against what?

 I checked the current version in karmic which didn't have one.

 If the above is what should be promoted to main, could the karmic
 version be upgraded?
