It seems to only happen when "Overdub" or "Software Playthrough" are
turned on in the options... as a workaround, try turning those options
off, or play with the input and output devices until you find one that
works (for me, if I just pick "ALSA: default" as the output device it
cuts out as the bug describes, but if I pick the actual sound card, it
seems to work OK).
