I am having the same problem. After update at 2009-07-29 I can not start
ubuntu in normal graphics mode. Every time it starts in low-graphics
mode with error report. I posted thread at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=628790 with more details, but
no luck so far.
