It built for me locally, and to make sure of this I also built it in my
PPA. You can see the build log:

Note the patch applies correctly now:

applying patch 90_applet_crash to ./ ... ok.

If it's not working for you, could you let me know where the problem
lies (include the build log if possible) so I can look into it further?
