[Bug 186656] Re: smart crashed with UnicodeEncodeError in main()

I sensed this bug might affect me today, there's that group which will
accuse me of using some paranormal-power to perceive this. The morning
coffee was had before starting the computer, so I could drop the load
before doing these reports. This is one of those routine difficulties in
my home office, for a personal-use system.
