[Bug 392058] [NEW] error(s) during upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 (64 bit)

Public bug reported:

Similar to 375246 except with 64 bit version.

After post-install automatic reboot, login led to desktop background
only.  (No panels, Icons, etc.  Useless.)

Rebooted in recovery mode, ran "fix broken packages" and got several
error messages re libchipcard but system has booted into functioning
desktop environment.  Still checking for problems.

Apparently package did not install so "apt-cache policy libchipcard"
produces no output.
