[Bug 392190] [NEW] vmbuilder fails silently when providing invalid hostname

Public bug reported:

On Jaunty 9.04

when running vmbuilder with --hostname ubuntu_test, the scripts
continues creating the VM silently, only when booting and starting to
use the created VM, problems arise because ubuntu_test is not a valid
hostname. vmbuilder should check that the hostname is valid before
creating the VM.

See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostname#Restrictions_on_valid_host_names
for valid hostnames.
