Public bug reported:
After installing lemonpos 0.5 from ubuntu repositories, it will not
launch -- complains about can't connect to db (it neither created it
during the install, nor told me I had to) with bad user (not created, as
before) or bad password (not created, as before). I manually created the
db and user, and have tried every password related to lemonpos I could
find on Google -- without success.
And if that isn't bad enough, I can't manually install lemonpos 0.6 because their install presupposes that all my KDE4 stuff is in /opt/KDE4 -- which, of course, it isn't because Ubuntu is somehow obliged to bork file locations and directories:
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/opt/kde4 .. #here you put your path to kde4.
I tried /usr/lib /usr/lib/kde4 and /usr/share/kde4 instead of /opt/kde4 and it won't install.
This is an amplification of bug #303546, which has been marked that it
won't be fixed.
If you clowns just *have* to fark up the package installation for your
own distro _and_ whiz in the file structure for a package, could you at
least let us mere users let you know what you've done so we can fix your
screwups?
