Yes, I'm aware of those bugs and checked them.

bug #349992 - I'm reluctant to experiment any further. I'm staying w/ 2.6.28-11.
bug #357290 - well, I don't even dream of running any 3D

On my laptop I'm using an external monitor. When I tried to switch to UXA in xorg.conf the X didn't start and I got an error message:

Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode

The following error was encountered. You may need
to update your configuration to solve this.

(EE) intel(0): Cannot support DRI with frame buffer width
> 2048 
"
Exactly like it was reported in Bug #366275
