[Bug 371020] [NEW] Ubuntu 9.04 won't recognize my Dell Axim X50

I am a newby to Linux. I've used Unix and Xenix decades ago; but Ubuntu
is new to me.

I use Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jacalope. My Evolution version is 2.26.1. I
have a Dell Axim X50. When I place the PDA into the dock and connect it
to the USB port, my system does not recognize the PDA.

Any suggestions? Has someone solved this issue before now?  I have not
located any threads on user forums that are specific to the Dell Axim
X50 and Evolution and are complete responses to solving the matter.

I've discovered that most application in Ubuntu are extremely easy to
install and to use. However, attempting to sychronize my contacts,
calendar, etc. with Evolution has been a nightmare.
