Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
upgraded from ibex to jaunty two days ago.
did not have compiz, or visual effects installed at all - prefer plain desktop for speed.
did get the fglrx drivers message when doing the upgrade.
would expect that visual effects settings and keyboard shortcuts should
be remembered; or at least lowest common denominator desktop works
(assuming drivers work).
after rebooting, windows do not have window borders, or window decoration - just the window aligned top left.
keyboard shortcuts not working either: alt+tab; ctrl+alt+left/right; alt+f2.
didn't look for anything else.
have to choose "normal effects" from visual effects menu, to get window borders / decoration working, so that windows can be moved around.
visual effects do work well; compiz sems to be working fine.
setting dektop back to metacity has same result as above with things not
working. have not tried anything else.
have to install compizconfig settings manager, to enable application switcher and desktop cube for above keyboard shortcuts to work.
however, visual effects setting (compiz custom) is not working after another reboot.
Thinkpad T42p; ATI Rage FireGL T2 screen card.
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
