Ivan, thank you for your input. I agree that some problems are resolved
with the DRI2, but the problem with the "Atmosphere" feature in Google
Earth still remains. My xorg Intel video driver, which also uses the
latest DRI2, still can't paint the atmosphere around the globe without a
significant loss of speed and usability.
