Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cups-pdf
Since upgrading from hardy-intrepid-to jaunty cups-pdf no longer embeds
the fonts in the pdf file. The result is that pdf files no longer render
or print properly. References of other users experiencing this problem
can be seen at:

[pdf fonts all jaggy]
When I compare pages printed to cups-pdf before (hardy) with the same
page printed after jaunty, I found that the 'before' pages include
embedded subset fonts, the after does not. I'll attach a before and
after of the 9.04 release notes page.
The problem is not present in hardy or intrepid.
