[Bug 381989] [NEW] Resolution always fails back to 1360x768, ignoring xorg.conf

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Dist: Jaunty Jackalope

GFX Adapter:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

GNOME Display Settings only allow me to set 1360x768 which is 6 pixel
less in width than the native resolution of my MSI Wind Top AE1900 AIO
PC's Display. In Windows the resolution is 1366x768.

Because of the missing pixels Gnome/XFree seems to fill the area with
the pixels left of it.

I already tried changing/forcing X11 to use 1366x768 by adding a custom
Modeline. But this results in color line mess on gm login prompt. After
blind login the resolution sets back to 1360x768.

What can I do?
