problem: 
wrong physical size of screen detected (289 x 21 mm) causing i.e. large font and other stuff

it seems there is no monitor quirk for this screen (EDID vendor "LPL",
prod id 10752)

quick workaround: turn off acpi (acpi=off) in grub
